PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a file information management method for preventing unnecessary file distribution in distributing the file by directly connecting respective nodes in a network system and to provide an information processing apparatus as a node. SOLUTION: In the file information management method for preventing unnecessary file distribution in the distributing the file by directly connecting respective nodes in the network system, each node signs the file and a node receiving the distributed file checks the history of signatures (S14) and determines whether the file is to be received or not by referring to a storage and distribution range of the file (S16) to prevent the unnecessary file distribution.
