PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an "on-vehicle navigation system" capable of properly and safely carrying out advance from a general lane in a prescribed advance permission section, and desired travel using a specified lane, such as a car pool lane of permitting departure from general lane in a prescribed departure permission section, for a user. SOLUTION: This on-vehicle navigation system is provided with a residual number notification means 28 for informing the user of at least one out of the residual numbers in the departure permission section for running off to the general lane, from the specified lane, in a section from own vehicle position detected by an own vehicle position detector 14, up to a branch point or an exit of a plurality of lane roads, provided with the specified lane and the general lane existing on a recommended route, when guiding a route for the own vehicle.
