PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a system load in a recorder heretofore employed, and to reduce the number of wires in a flexible flat cable. SOLUTION: This recorder comprises a control section for the entire of the recorder and a head system section for controlling a recording head. The head system section includes an image processing section which is mounted on a carriage and adapted to perform processing of binarization for converting image data to binary data, a memory for storing the binary data obtained by the processing of binarization, and a generation means for generating a recording timing according to an encoder signal.
