PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that when file system information related to a directory to which a file to be recorded belongs is not disposed in a small erasure block area in a memory device having both areas of a small erasure block and a large erasure block, real-time data recording in recording equipment can not be guaranteed. SOLUTION: This recording device 200 has a recording target directory list 206 and a directory sector number conversion means 204. In the recording device 200, it is confirmed that the directory enumerated in the directory list in a file system on a removable recording medium 208 is present in the small erasure block area before recording operation, and a mode of the recording device is made to be transited to a warning mode or a recording forbiddance mode through an operation mode changeover means 213 when violation is known.
