PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display device capable of suppressing deterioration in image quality immediately after supplying power source even while improving the dark contrast. SOLUTION: When a plasma display panel (PDP) is driven by applying various kinds of pulses to the PDP provided with a phosphor layer containing a secondary electron emission material in each discharge cell, a driving pulse having a pulse wave form different between during the time elapsed prescribed time after the supplying power source of the plasma display device and after the prescribed time elapsed is produced.
