PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeder and an image forming device capable of suitably feeding the sheet even when information of the sheets loaded on a sheet loading part is erroneous. SOLUTION: The sheets loaded on the sheet tray 105 are handled by blowing air to the sheets loaded on the liftable sheet tray 105 by driving a fan 609 according to the blowing condition of air based on the sheet information previously inputted by an input part. A position of the uppermost sheet S1 of the handled sheets is detected by position detection parts 607, 608. Further, when the position detection parts 607, 608 detect the uppermost sheet S1 handled by blowing of air, the sheet tray 105 is descended. Further, when the position detection parts 607, 608 do not detect the uppermost sheet S1 even if air is blown and a lifting detection part detects ascending of the sheet tray 105, it is determined that the sheet information inputted by the input part is different from that of the sheet loaded on the sheet loading part 105.
