PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator device capable of preventing passenger(s) from being confined in an elevator car in the event of failure. SOLUTION: The elevator device is equipped with a first guide indicator 17 installed at an elevator hall for indicating the operating situation of the car 1, a second guide indicator 5 installed inside the car 1 for indicating the setting information, and an indication output means 19 to emit the indication contents to the first and second guide indicators, wherein the indication output means emits a guidance to the first guide indicator 17 to notify that the elevator is in failure when the car 1 is failed and in standby with the door closed at the floor of the hall 13, and emits guidance to the second guide indicator 5 to notify it how to open the car door.
