PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conveying device capable of preventing damages of a workpiece by impact during conveying. SOLUTION: The conveying device 1 is provided with a conveying beam 10 having a workpiece retaining part 12b reciprocatable with a predetermined stroke; and a receiving base 20 extending along the conveying beam 10. In the conveying device 1, the workpiece W is conveyed while receiving/giving the workpiece W between the workpiece retaining part 12b and the receiving base 20 by vertical motion of the conveying beam 10. The receiving base 20 is vertically movably constituted, and receiving/giving of the workpiece W is performed in the stationary state of the workpiece retaining part 12b and the receiving base 20.
