PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shift lever device for a vehicle capable of suppressing the deformation or damage of slide covers when a lever shaft is inserted. SOLUTION: This shift lever device 10 for the vehicle has: a shift lever device body 20 having a guide hole 21 extending in longitudinal and lateral directions of the vehicle; the lever shaft 30 inserted into the guide hole 21 and swingable in the longitudinal and lateral directions of the vehicle; the first slid cover 40 having a first elongate hole 41 for inserting the lever shaft 30 and closing the guide hole 21; and the second slide cover 50 closing the first elongate hole 41 and having a second elongate hole 51 extending in a direction intersecting with the first elongate hole 41 and inserting the lever shaft 30, and a lip 52 formed to at least one of two opposing long sides of the second elongate hole 51 and projecting in a direction where the width of the second elongate hole 51 is reduced.
