PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluid application apparatus whereby a water repellent fluid can be applied to a liner board as a constituent member of corrugated fiberboard without being splashed and the running speed of a linerboard need not be slowed down at the start of water repellent processing. SOLUTION: The fluid application apparatus is one consisting substantially of a sloped plate 1 in which the upper surface is a slope 1a along which a water repellent fluid H flows down, an upstream and downstream rollers 3 and 4 respectively situated upstream and downstream across the sloped plate 1, a water repellent fluid tank 5 which holds the water repellent fluid H flowing down from the sloped plate 1, an ejection pipe 6 situated upstream of the sloped plate 1, and a feed pipe 8 and a pump 7 that feed the water repellent fluid H from the tank 5 into the ejection pipe 6, wherein the linerboard P is conveyed through the space over the slope 1a from the upstream roller 3 to the downstream roller 4, and when the water repellent fluid H is applied to either surface of the linerboard P, the downstream roller 4 horizontally moves toward the slope plate 1 to allow the linerboard P to come into contact with the downstream end 2 of the sloped plate 1 so as to adhere the water repellent fluid H to the surface of the linerboard P.
