In an alkaline fuel cell, an electrode catalyst (32) includes a magnetic material (34), and catalyst particles (38) supported on the magnetic material (34). Besides, the alkaline fuel cell includes an electrode (10) that has the function of allowing negative ions to permeate through the electrolyte (10), and an anode electrode (20) and a cathode electrode (30) respectively disposed on the both sides of the electrode (10), and at least the cathode electrode (30) of the both electrodes is the electrode catalyst (32).
