<p>Handgun locking apparatus (18) for securing a handgun (11) in a holster (10) includes lever member (20) including body (19) having forward and rear end portion mounted to holster (10) and spring element (19A) projecting forwardly and outwardly from front end portion of body (19) for contacting interior surface of holster (10) for biasing body (19) against handgun (11). Locking flange (26) on forward end contacts handgun (11) to positively engage a portion of handgun (11) and inhibits withdrawal thereof from holster (10). Operating arm (20) extends rearwardly from rear end portion of body (19) to move the locking flange (26) away from handgun (11). Positioning member (30, 31) is affixed inside holster (10) for engaging handgun (11) inserted in holster (10) to position a portion of handgun (11) in contact with locking flange (26). Tension device (32) is mounted to the inside of holster (10) for positioning handgun (11) properly with respect to locking apparatus (18).</p> |
