INSTRUMENTED MODULAR MIXER FOR MIXING AT LEAST TWO VISCOUS MATERIALS

Modular mixer (1) made up of a feed module (2), for introducing materials to be mixed into the mixer, and one or more mixing modules (3) for homogenizing the materials by forcing them from one compartment (11, 12) of a mixing chamber (26) to another compartment through a mixing grid (10) by means of two collinear pistons (7) sliding in this chamber. The various modules, made up of similar elements, are connected up according to the requirements of the user by junction units (4) for transferring material from one module to another, for feeding material, for discharging material or for in-line removal during transfer of material between two modules. These junction units are instrumented so as to carry out various measurements for monitoring and characterizing the mixture. This invention is of interest to laboratories, research centres and small units for the production of products resulting from one or more mixtures of viscous products.
