<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coated cutting tool with an improved service life by improving adhesion strength between a first layer excellent in wear resistance and a second layer excellent in heat resistance, and forming a precise aluminum oxynitride coating in the second layer. <P>SOLUTION: In this coated cutting tool coated with hard coating, the hard coating has a layer construction having at least two layers with different compositions. In the hard coating, the first layer and the second layer are laminated toward a surface layer direction from a base material.
