摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescent lamp superior in ultraviolet ray shielding effect and luminous flux maintenance factor characteristics in which a protecting membrane comprised by mixing zinc oxide ZnO and titanium oxide TiO<SB>2</SB>is formed to have an effective membrane thickness in a glass bulb of a tubular outer diameter of 15 to 17 mm using nonlead glass. SOLUTION: The fluorescent lamp 20 has a composition containing Na<SB>2</SB>O 1 to 13 wt.%, K<SB>2</SB>O 1 to 15 wt.%, LiO 0 to 5 wt.% (total amount of Na<SB>2</SB>O, K<SB>2</SB>O, and Li<SB>2</SB>O is within a range of 5 to 20 wt.%), does not contain lead substantially, is comprised of nonlead glass of which the softening temperature is 685°C, and is equipped with a glass bulb 1 of the tubular outer diameter 15 to 17 mm having a curved part at least in one part, an electrode, a protecting membrane which has a particulate mixed body of ZnO and TiO<SB>2</SB>formed on its inner face as the main body and of which the membrane thickness is 0.2 to 2.0μm, a phosphor layer 3 formed on an inner face side of the protecting membrane, and a discharge medium.
