摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a failure determining device of an air flow control valve, which makes a determination on adhesion of an air flow control valve so as to cope with an adhesion state as a whole of the air flow control valve, and which favorably makes a determination on adhesion of the air flow control valve especially by freezing. SOLUTION: The internal combustion engine system 100 is constituted of: an internal combustion engine 50; and the air flow control valve 60 which is used for generating a tumble flow in the cylinder of the internal combustion engine 50. The ECU1 used for making a determination on failure of the air flow control valve 60 is provided with a particular-adhesion determination means which makes a judgement on the adhesion of the air flow control valve 60, based on the state of the combustion performed in the internal combustion engine 50. The particular-adhesion determination means makes a determination on the adhesion of the air flow control valve 60 caused by freezing by making a determination on the adhesion of the air flow control valve 60 when the temperature of the intake air is a predetermined value or lower.
