<p>A heterogeneous media protection method for a PON is provided to solve the problem of implementing complicatedly and requiring additional standard or protocol definition, which comprises the following steps. The protected primary line and backup line are assigned to a VLAN. Each protected port in the office device is assigned to a VLAN for the user device port that is connected to the protected port of the office device. MSTP is performed in the office device and the user device, and the port number for the primary line is configured smaller than that of the backup line, to block the VLAN related to the backup line port. On failure of the primary line, the VLAN related to the backup line port is de-blocked by MSTP, the traffic is switched from the primary line to the backup line, and the VLAN related to the primary line port is blocked. The method is mainly applied in heterogeneous media protection for a PON, without the need of additional standard or protocol definition, which is simple to implement.</p> |
