PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of easily manufacturing an anode for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery having lithium occluded in an anode active material before use of a battery.

SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the anode for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery made by having lithium occluded in an anode active material capable of occluding and releasing lithium. Lithium is supplied and made occluded from metal lithium 103 to the anode active material with soluble dicarboxylate or its acid anhydride or nonaqueous electrolyte solution containing soluble perchlorate intercalated between an anode precursor 102 having an anode active material in a state before lithium is added and metal lithium 103.
