PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hologram copying device with a simple constitution to copy a hologram to a copy medium at a high speed, and prevent fanning noise, and to provide a hologram copying method using the same. SOLUTION: Laser light from a light source 31 is divided into maser reference light for master hologram data playback and pump light for photorefractive amplification by a beam splitter 32, and the master reference light is emitted to a master hologram recorded in a master medium 22, so as to generate diffraction light. The obtained diffraction light and the pump light interferable to the diffraction light are made incident on a photorefractive medium 37, so as to amplify the diffraction light. The diffraction light amplified by the photorefractive medium 37 is condensed with a lens 38, and is emitted to a copy medium 39, so as to transfer hologram data. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
