PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording device capable of easily discriminating a normally image recorded sheet and a defective sheet even if high-speed image recording is employed, a method of sorting and cutting sheets by the device, and its program. SOLUTION: A control section 11 makes a defect detection section 9 detect defects of images recorded on a continuous sheet 14b on the basis of a sheet cutting position control section 12. The control section 11 changes the way of cutting by a sheet cutting section 10 for the continuous sheet 14b on the basis of the result of defect detection by the defect detection section 9.
