<p>A base station used in a communication system of the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) type decides a plurality of sectors performing soft combining according to position information on a mobile station inputted and/or the type of the channel to be transmitted. For each of the decided sectors, a transmission signal containing a pilot signal used for demodulation and data on the channel performing soft combining is generated and transmitted. Thus, in the mobile station, the transmission signals from the sectors can be synchronized/synthesized and received within the guard interval range.</p> |
