<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce inter-carrier interference so that all frequencies can be used even near a cell edge. <P>SOLUTION: When an interference signal that causes inter-carrier interference is detected, a mobile station 14 notifies a currently communicating base station 12-1 of the fact that the interference signal is detected (S100). The base station 12-1 sequentially requests adjacent base stations 12-2, 12-3, ..., to hold radio transmission (S102 and S110) until it is notified from the mobile station 14 that interference signal power is reduced. When the power of the detected interference signal is reduced, the mobile station 14 notifies the base station 12-1 of its reduction amount (S116). In such a case, the base station 12-1 estimates that a base station 12-3 requesting the holding of the radio transmission just before S116 is a transmission source of the interference signal detected by the mobile station 14.
