<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a practical sterilizer for fruits and vegetables, such as mandarin orange, apple and pear, capable of effectively sterilizing microorganisms, such as filamentous fungus that adheres to the surface of the skin. <P>SOLUTION: This sterilizer is set with a sterilizing means 3, which has either a heater 4 heating fruits and vegetables 15 ... or an ultraviolet ray irradiating device 5 irradiating ultraviolet rays to fruits and vegetables 15 ..., in a carrier route between processes from selecting fruits and vegetables 15 to packing in a box so as to sterilize by the sterilizing means 3, and microorganisms adhering to the surface of fruits and vegetables 15 to be carried with a carrier conveyor 2.
