A gaming machine may be configured in multiple ways, permitting the gaming machine to have various appearances, and providing improved component accessibility. In one embodiment, a door (100) of the gaming machine has a frame (102), a support panel (106) and a bezel (126) and one or more frame covers (136/146) , permitting the appearance of the door to be changed. In another embodiment, a console (526) is located below a component area and extends outwardly towards a player of the gaming machine. At least one gaming machine component such as a currency validator (544) and/or media dispenser (534) is associated with the console (526) and is accessible at a front of the console.
