<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of double sided printing, wherein convenience for a user is increased by decreasing processing required for a jam (paper jam) caused during conveyance of a sheet S switched back in order to be printed on its back. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: an image forming section 4; an ejecting section 6 for ejecting a sheet S; a switch back section 7 for reversing conveyance of the sheet S; a re-joining conveyance path 8 where a sheet S is caused to enter by the switch back section 7 and the sheet S is made to re-join into a sheet conveyance path 3, on upstream side of the image forming section 4 in the direction of sheet conveyance; an entry detection section for detecting the entry of the sheet S into the re-joining conveyance path 8; and a time counting section 103 that counts a lapse of time from the start of the switch back of the sheet S. In the case that the entry detection section does not detect the entry of the sheet S into the re-joining conveyance path 8 even after a predetermined time has elapsed after the start of the switch back, the switch back section 7 reverses conveyance of the sheet S again. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
