<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display apparatus which allows an observer with different pupil distances to observe bright high-definition images with a simple constitution free from a pupil distance adjustment mechanism. <P>SOLUTION: When both right and left LCDs are made into a display state of white solid color images, observation pupils E<SB>R</SB>, E<SB>L</SB>have color distributions in the pupils with different image colors in accordance with the positions in the pupil distance directions. Then, when the right eye and left eye are located in the vicinities of the respective centers of the observation pupils E<SB>R</SB>, E<SB>L</SB>, the observation images R, L have the same color, and, when the right eye and left eye are located in the positions separated by equal distances from the respective centers of the observation pupils E<SB>R</SB>, E<SB>L</SB>to between the insides or between outsides in the pupil distance directions, respectively, the observation images R, L have different colors each other. In this way, images with colors different in the right eye and left eye are made to observe by each observer with different pupil distances, so that the satisfactory images having reduced color unevenness can be observed by both eyes observation. Thus, an effort of reducing color unevenness in individual pupils is reduced, and also, there is no need of increasing the diffusion degree of a diffusion board. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
