<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for sorting and collecting a steel material, which can effectively collect the steel material from objects to be treated including metallic materials including steel and an organic polymer material, and to provide a method therefor. <P>SOLUTION: A treatment furnace F is provided with an inlet port 10 of a hot gas containing a low concentration of oxygen, and a gas outlet port 12. A carriage R is provided with a funnel-shaped structural part I. The collecting method comprises: loading steel scrap S on the carriage R; accommodating the carriage R in the treatment furnace F; and delivering the hot gas containing the low concentration of oxygen into the treatment furnace F through the inlet port 10 of the hot gas containing the low concentration of oxygen to control the temperature in the inside of the treatment furnace F to a temperature at which the organic polymer material in the steel scrap S is thermally decomposed, a metallic material that can exist in the steel scrap S and has a lower melting point than that of the steel material melts, and glasses which can exist in the steel scrap S do not reach their melting temperatures. Thereby, the organic polymer material in the steel scrap S is thermally decomposed or melted, and simultaneously, the metallic material which can exist in the steel scrap S and has the lower melting point than that of the steel material is melted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
