CONTRAST ENHANCEMENT METHOD AND DEVICE, IMAGING DEVICE AND STORAGE MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contrast enhancement method and device.

SOLUTION: The contrast enhancement method comprises steps of: (a) calculating a global contrast measure containing an appearance measure of a selected pixel or a selected spatial arrangement of voxel brightness in an analysis image or image part; (b) adjusting an adjustable tone conversion function for generating a contrast enhancement tone conversion which optimizes the global contrast measure; and (c) enhancing the contrast of a target image or image part using the contrast enhancement tone conversion. The step (a) may include calculating at least several items or item functions of multi-dimensional distribution covering the brightness of the analysis image or image part and calculating the global contrast measure according to at least the calculated items or functions and the adjustable tone conversion function.
