PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide image correctly indicating an actual anatomical location and orientation of an ultrasonic tomographic image, even if a region of interest itself is moved or deformed when observing the ultrasonic tomographic image of the region of interest such as an internal organ, an organ and tissue. SOLUTION: A reference image storage section 55 stores reference image data of normal pancreas and reference image data after rotating or moving the pancreas, and a control circuit 63 determines which one out of the reference image data is used. An interpolation circuit 56 rereads the reference image data by a command from the control circuit 63, and voxel spaces of an interpolation memory and a composite memory are filled with the reference image data read corresponding to a combination of keys. The three-dimensional human body image data and the guide image are thus changed over instantaneously by the key operation by an operator so as to display the guide image correctly indicating the actual anatomical location and orientation of the ultrasonic tomographic image.
