PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zinc metal surface treatment method excellent in safety and operability by which a coating having excellent rust prevention performance to white color rust can be provided. SOLUTION: A method for forming a corrosion resistant film on a zinc surface is characterized in that (1) the zinc surface is subjected to oxidation treatment, (2) the zinc surface subjected to the oxidation treatment is brought into contact with a coating treatment liquid containing a silicic compound having a pH of 9 to 14, or the steps of (1) and (2) are simultaneously performed.
