PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator door controller allowing a passenger to remove easily his/her belonging which is caught, by shifting the door in the direction of external force in response to the movement caused by an external force following a stop of the door when an abnormal overload is sensed. SOLUTION: The elevator door controller is equipped with a door opening/closing controlling means to control the opening/closing speed or the opening/closing torque of the door during its motion and a door load sensing part 16 to sense the door load Ld of the door being in motion. The door opening/closing controlling means stops the door moving if the door load Ld exhibits an overload equal to or exceeding a prescribed value and controls the opening/closing speed or the opening/closing torque in the moving direction by external force when the door is moved by an external force after the door motion is stopped.
