PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To certainly reset a sensor which detects a steering angle, in a constitution wherein a steering wheel and a steering gear are mechanically separated. SOLUTION: To a steering shaft 3 to which the steering wheel 2 is mounted, a driving motor 12 and an electromagnetic brake means 15 are coupled. The driving motor 12 makes a steering reaction force act on the steering wheel 2 when an angle difference between a steering angle and a turning angle is large. The electromagnetic brake means 15 makes a brake force act on the steering wheel 2 when the angle difference between the steering angle and the turning angle is small. The electromagnetic brake means 15 is used when the angle difference is small, so that the control of the driving motor 12 is simplified. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
