PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for removing foreign matter, by which foreign matter such as air can be easily removed. SOLUTION: The apparatus 10 for removing foreign matter is arranged between a housing vessel 3 for housing a liquid gasket material 2 to which UV energy is applied and which is cured and an application unit 5 for applying the liquid gasket material 2 to a workpiece 4 and provided with: a connection pipe 11 which is used for connecting the housing vessel 3 to the application unit 5 and on which a window 18 is formed; a foreign matter detection unit 19 for monitoring the liquid gasket material 2 through the window 18 and detecting foreign matter 8 contained in the liquid gasket material 2; an energy addition unit 20 for adding UV energy to the foreign matter 8-containing liquid gasket material 2 when the foreign matter 8 contained in the liquid gasket material 2 is detected by the foreign matter detection unit 19; and a removal unit 16 for removing the gasket material 2a to which the UV energy is applied from the energy addition unit 20 and which is cured.
