The invention relates to an ignition device (1) for explosively forming w orkpieces (23) in a forming tool (4) comprising an ignition mechanism (5) an d an ignition tube (2), the ignition tube (2) guiding the explosion ignited by the ignition mechanism (5) into the workpiece (23) placed in the forming tool (4). The device is improved so as to allow a more easily manageable arr angement of the ignition mechanism (5) and forming tool (4) in practice that is suitable for the explosive forces arising. The aim of the invention is a chieved by an ignition device (1) wherein a curved guide (3) is provided bet ween the ignition mechanism (5) and the forming tool (4).
