<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airbag device for a pedestrian with in improved mounting performance to a vehicle body. <P>SOLUTION: This airbag device 10 for the pedestrian comprises a base plate 20 extending forward and backward of a vehicle body along an A-pillar 2 of a vehicle body 1, a folding element of an airbag 30 arranged along the base plate 20, a cover 40 covering the folding element of the airbag 30, and an inflator 60 connected to the front end of the airbag 30. When the airbag device 10 for the pedestrian is mounted to the A-pillar 2, a hook piece 6 extending from the A-pillar 2 is inserted in slits 54, 24 and 49 formed at the side face of the cover 40 and the base plate 20 so as to hook the airbag device 10 for the pedestrian to the A-pillar 2. Thereafter, an anchor 21 at the rear end side of the base plate 20 is fixed to a roof side rail 3 of the vehicle body 1, and an inflator 60 fixed to the front end side of the base plate 20 is fixed to a hood ridge 5 of the vehicle body 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
