<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planar light source apparatus in which streaks are less likely to be generated in a display screen of a liquid crystal display device, even if it is left standing in a high-temperature environment. <P>SOLUTION: The planar light source apparatus 3 for illuminating a liquid crystal panel 2 from the rear side of the panel 2 is provided with an LED 6, a light guide plate 5 which guides light form the LED 6 and emits light into a planar shape from one of side surfaces 52 in a thickness direction, and a first and second prism sheets 8, 9 having a prism surface 83, 93 where there are formed prisms 81 with a convex shaped cross-section for collecting light so that the light emitted from the light guide plate 5 can come close to the direction of a normal of one of side surface 52. The first and the second prism sheets 8, 9 have the prism surfaces 83, 93, arranged neighboring each other and facing the same direction. A plurality of projected members 10 are arranged between the first prism sheet 8 and the second prism sheet 8, and extend toward the prism surface 83 of the first prism sheet 8. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
