PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation device, capable of performing guidance to a residual distance to each adjacent guide point, even when adjacent guide points appear continuously. SOLUTION: The navigation device comprises an adjacent guide point extracting part for extracting mutually adjacent adjacent guide points from map data; a sound effect set storage part for storing each sound effect set, obtained by grouping different kinds of sound effects to be assigned according to the distance to each adjacent guide point, in association with the adjacent guide point concerned; a sound effect set assignment part for reading sound effect set, corresponding to each of the adjacent guide point extracted by the adjacent guide point extracting part from the sound effect set storage part and assigning it to the adjacent guide point concerned; and a guide part for reproducing, based on the sound effect set assigned by the sound effect set assignment part, a sound effect according to the distance from own vehicle position to the corresponding adjacent guide point and performing guidance.
