PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can obtain a user's desired image. SOLUTION: The sublimable printer 100 (image forming apparatus) is equipped with: an apparatus body, a printing head 2 including a heating element 2e; a head temperature sensor 2f for detecting a temperature of the printing head 2; an environmental temperature sensor 28 for detecting an environmental temperature as a temperature of the atmosphere in the apparatus body; and a control part 22a which controls to carry out first correction of correcting a quantity of heat applied to the heating element 2e of the printing head 2 on the basis of the temperature of the printing head 2 and the environmental temperature in the apparatus body detected by the head temperature sensor 2f and the environmental temperature sensor 28, and to carry out second correction of further correcting a first correction value corrected by the first correction on the basis of density information of a printing image.
