SINGLE-DOMAIN ANTIBODIES AND HEAVY CHAIN ANTIBODY AGAINST EGFR AND USES THEREOF

The present invention relates to the field of antibodies directed towards epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR). More particularly, the present invention relates to anti-EGFR polypeptides (e.g. single-domain antibodies : sdAb) and nucleic acid sequences encoding same, directed towards and clones thereof, which target EGFR. The invention also concerns an sdAb which is fused with a crystallizable fragment (Fc) of an immunoglobulin protein in order to generate a chimeric protein. These anti-EGFR proteins can thus be used in the targeting of tumors presenting EGFR on their surface, as well as for diagnosing and treating several types of cancer associated with cells over-expressing EGFR on their surface.
