<p>The yarn passes between a pref. fixed wire element carried on a fixed mounting, a and a movable wire element carried on an electromagnetically movable pivotal arm, the two elements together defining a V-shaped guide. The fixed mounting and pivotal arm also carry cooperating parts of a clamping and a cutting mechanism, so that when breakage or tension loss occurs, the arm is pivoted to allow the yarn to fall through the bottom of the guide so that it is clamped and cut simultaneously. The mechanism acts rapidly and eliminates scuffing of the yarn during start-up.</p> |
