<p>An improved support wall for a tube bundle extending on both sides of the wall into adjacent chambers to be held at slightly different pressures, as in condenser chambers of multi-stage, flash evaporation desalination plants. The new wall provides an economic method of leak-proofing between adjacent chambers, even when the tubes are so tightly bunched that sealing rings are impracticable. The wall is made of a metal plate pierced with clearance holes for the tubes, and an associated rubber sheet with corresp. holes which aresmall enough to grip the tubes and form a seal all round each tube.</p> |
