It is intended to provide a hair cosmetic excellent in flexibility, water-retaining effect and feel of use without stickiness in use or stiffness in drying which could not be obtained with a conventional hair cosmetic for hair, particularly damaged hair by an economical method. More particularly, according to the invention, a hair cosmetic excellent in good feel of use, flexibility and water-retaining effect can be obtained by preparing a composition containing a cationized trehalose derivative such as cationized trehalose or a cationized glycosyl trehalose and blending the composition in a hair cosmetic without undergoing a purification process.
