CATALYST FOR FUEL CELL CONTAINING RuTe2 AND N ELEMENT, AND ELECTRODE MATERIAL FOR FUEL CELL USING THIS CATALYST FOR FUEL CELL, AND FUEL CELL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a RuTe2based catalyst for a fuel cell which demonstrates a superior catalyst action capable of substituting a noble metal catalyst such as platinum with low cost and has a high oxygen reduction reaction starting potential.

SOLUTION: The catalyst for the fuel cell contains RuTe2as an active component and further contains N element and Fe element. Since N element or further Fe element are added to the RuTe2which is a catalyst for fuel cell demonstrating a superior catalyst action capable of substituting a noble metal catalyst such as platinum with low cost, the catalyst for the fuel cell with increased oxygen reduction reaction starting potential and having a higher potential and much current can be obtained.
