<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the damage of a card by taking in and putting out the card as a battery is left as it is entered while thinning the thickness of a portable remote terminal. <P>SOLUTION: A battery housing recessed section 8 and a card inserting section 10 are formed so as to be mutually adjoined in the longitudinal direction of a cabinet 3a for a sliding type portable telephone 1 (the portable remote terminal). A control member 12 is fitted on a boundary between the battery housing recessed section 8 and the card inserting section 10.
