WORM GEAR OIL COMPOSITION AND WORM GEAR UNIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a worm gear unit including a high-strength yellow brass wheel and a steel worm; and to provide a worm gear oil composition which has superior transfer efficiency to that of PAG-based lubricant oil in related art and lightly adversely affects an organic material including painting. SOLUTION: The worm gear oil composition is the worm gear oil composition used in the worm gear unit including the high-strength yellow brass wheel and the steel worm and contains: at least one base oil selected from a hydrocarbon-based synthetic oil and petroleum oil; (A) a hydroxyl group-containing ester; and (B) dithiocarbamate, wherein the contents of the (A) and (B) components with respect to the total amount of the composition are 1-18 mass% and 0.5-5 mass%, respectively.
