<p>A narrow tape is secured, e.g. by stitching, adjacent the edge of a wide tape, the turned under edge of the garment being secured between the two tapes, e.g. by thermoplastic adhesive or stitching, and the wide tape being secured to the inside of the garment and itself constituting the hem. The wide tape may have weakness lines to allow strips to be torn off to decrease its width, or sewn in folds which may be undone to increase its width.</p> |
