<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate setting of the number of copies, in registering of job memory, and the like. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus for forming an image on a recording medium based on image data is provided with a control means capable of registering the job memory, and the like, so as to call and perform set contents concerning the formation of the image and further, capable of registering the setting of the number of copies for forming the image by macro definition. The control means can perform setting and registering so that the macro definition is included in the job memory. The setting of the number of copies can be performed easily by using the macro definition. Furthermore, the number of copies of the macro definition is changed to change the setting of the job memory including the macro definition in block.
