PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a FOT (Fiber Optic Transceiver) case for optical module which can satisfactorily maintain an optical coupling condition while the number of components is reduced, and also to provide an optical module. SOLUTION: The FOT case 32 includes: a fixing part 34 having a package housing/fixing part 36 for housing and fixing the package 9 of the FOT 6; a cylindrical optical fiber-connecting cylinder part 38 which is integrated with the front face of this fixing part 34, with an optical fiber 4 inserted thereinto; and a hole part 40 which opens the front face of the fixing part 34 to expose the rear part 41 of the optical fiber-connecting cylinder part 38 that becomes the periphery of the package housing/fixing part 36, and which functions as a restraining part 43 for hooking in part the leaf-spring shaped engaging parts 42, 42 of a shield case 33 that covers the fixing part 34.
