PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive on-vehicle device capable of discriminating a road sign, especially a road sign on 'Stop' or 'No Trespassing', and suppressing increase of a fuel consumption of a loaded vehicle. SOLUTION: In this on-vehicle device 1, when a radar unit 2 detects an object having strong possibility of being a road sign, an image processing unit 3 cuts out a portion where the object having strong possibility of being the road sign is imaged from an imaged image. Then, image processing is performed relative an image of the cut-out portion, and it is detected whether the object is the road sign or not. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
