PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator capable of improving safety, while preventing reduction in thermal insulation performance. SOLUTION: This refrigerator 1 has cooler 3 generating cold air, a defrosting heater 7 arranged under the cooler 3 and defrosting the cooler 3, a defrosting water receiver 8 arranged under the defrosting heater 7, receiving defrosting water of the cooler 3 and having a drain port 9, and a drain pipe 10 communicating with the drain port 9. The defrosting water receiver 8 is provided with a shielding part 12 forming notches 8f and 8g on a bottom surface and covering an upper part of the drain port 9 oppositely to the defrosting heater 7 by pushing up the mutual notches 8f and 8g.
